Ring Alarm has added a duress code feature for the Ring Alarm Keypad! This is available if you have a Ring Protect Plus subscription and are signed up for professional monitoring. The duress code can be used in an emergency when you need to signal for help. It will not sound the siren or have any type of alert.
Whether Ring Alarm is armed or disarmed, simply enter the duress code into the Keypad and press the Disarmed button to send a silent duress signal to the monitoring center to request dispatch of emergency responders. If your Ring Alarm is armed, using the duress code gives the appearance of being disarmed as usual. If your Ring Alarm is disarmed, there will be no indication that any signal has been sent, but emergency services will be dispatched.
Please note that while the Duress code can be set and reset within the app, it can only be used on the Keypad.
Additionally, everyone in your home will need to use the same Duress code, you cannot create individual ones. So make sure that you explain that the Duress code shouldn't be used like a regular access code.

I tested the duress code and when the test call came in, it said (paraphrasing)
Hello, this is ring sending a test call for the residence of (my second contact) at (my address). In order to confirm this test, please say acknowledge or press 1.
My question is, why on earth is it claiming to be another person's residence. I have switched my first, second and third contacts around (I am the first contact), I have restarted, I have logged in and out. It seems odd to me that the auto system is claiming it to be the residence of someone else, but has my address correct. I spent 40 minutes on the phone to trouble shoot and the customer service rep had no idea how to help.
Sorry to hear about this experience @sabrina! The first thing I recommend checking is the location section of your Ring app. From the app dashboard please tap the menu (top left) and then tap the location at the top of that menu, which should result in a drop-down view of other locations. If there is another location showing, this information will want to be confirmed/ removed within the app.
Removing the app and reinstalling, as well as allowing location permissions, may help to resolve this concern. As we value your privacy and security, being this is related to monitoring and location information, the best next step will be to continue troubleshooting with our support team, to find a solution quickly.
