Motion sensor in garage - temperature range

I am thinking of installing a motion sensor in my garage which is attached to my residence.  I am concerned about the extreme temperatures in the garage in the winter and summer.  What is the temperature range for a motion sensor?  And, since it picks up heat, in the summer, will it work if the garage is already at 100 degrees?

Re: Motion sensor in garage - temperature range

Glad you asked @rmeyerlaw! The recommended operating conditions for the Motion Detector are 32°F to 120°F (0°C to 49°C). Keep in mind that the Alarm devices are not rated for outdoor use and an abrupt change in temperature can lead to a false detection or false Alarm.

Check out our help center article about the Dos and Don'ts of placing your Motion Detector. I hope this helps! Smiley Happy
