Alexa guard when armed for home?

Is there any way to enable Alexa guard when arming the Ring system in home mode? I’m trying to determine if this system is right for me and I need a glass break sensor to adequately protect my place at night.

Shortcoming of Guard at this time. Only works with Away mode, and not sure where to request this feature. Hopefully either this or Ring will come out with a glass break listener.

Hey neighbors! @su_A_ve is correct, Alexa Guard is only supported for Away Mode at this time. Our team is definitely working to expand on this feature and more. Consider this feedback shared with the team! We will update the Community with more information once it is received. :slight_smile:

I have replaced my security system with Ring but feel I need glass break monitoring at night when in armed Home mode. Please make this an option for Alexa Guard.

I agree! You should make glass break sensors for the alarm and also have the capability to use guard as an automatic notification to the monitoring company. I should not have to manually send it to the alarm!

This feature should be automatically enabled in home armed mode. All of these are Amazon products. Please make them work together!

Make it an option. I don’t want or need it in home mode.

Don’t even think about using guard as a glass break sensor. It does nothing at all. It does not notify the monitoring company or notify the police. It simply notifies your phone. Completely useless!

Again, you should have known it did not have it.

New here. Great suggestion. Alexa / Ring programmers simply need to add in separate functionality for HOME vs AWAY, and give users some control, such as:

Sensor Home Away

Glass Detect o x

Smoke/CO2 o x

where:

x = unchangeable

o = optional, user settable

Not really … there are simply way too many options out there with all of our tools to know everything.

Let your “Thumbs Up” be seen as your vote for Glass Break Sensors. Ring Teams notice Feature Requests with higher Thumbs Up numbers, and then are more likely to concern the request. There are other Glass Break Sensor Requests on the Feature Board. Across other topic areas (just not here in the Feature Board topic area) there are also many that I’ve probably missed a few links. But if you think this “Glass Break Sensor” device would be nice to have, click on the links below and then click the Thumbs Up Icon.
