Ring doorbell 1 hard wire

Can the ring doorbell 1 be hard-wired? The video tutorial only shows it being wired through an existing doorbell and explains how to adjust the existing doorbell chime which I obviously don’t have. Can I wire it through spur from a light switch that’ s adjacent to the door?

It seems feasible to me but I’m not an electrician. Just thought I would check before I get quotes.

Hey @Phillipa03. The only two configuration we recommend when it comes to wiring the Doorbell are directly to the transformer, which you can learn more about here, and to an existing chime kit, which you can learn more about here. :slight_smile:
