Will I get notified if original owner de-registers device?

We just moved into a home that has a Ring Doorbell Pro installed. I tried to set it up but the message said that the device is still registered to previous owner, and that the owner will be contacted.

Will I be notified if/when that owner de-registers? I’m wondering if I should keep trying to register, or if it’s a waste of time.
