I am in the process of installing a Ring security base station with various door, smoke, flood sensors. I was not really in the market for cameras, but if I am going to pay for yearly monitoring, it might be worthwile to have a few cameras. Does anyone know if there is video uplink capability while on cellular backup through the base station?
Hey @bserious. Glad to hear you are considering on expanding your system, as the cameras will definitely be included in your plus plan! When it comes to the cellular backup, this is from a SIM card that is within the Base Station, so if your wifi goes out, it will only be a backup for your Base Station to communicate to your Ring app and your security devices, not including the cameras as they talk directly to the router unlike the security devices talking to the Base Station.
