I have a Ring Doorbell – 2020 release, installed about 8 months ago with a hardwired set-up. I noticed the other day that the battery was no longer charging, and the battery ultimately went to 0%; assuming this was due to the cold weather, I brought it inside to charge using the USB cable. Steps taken to troubleshoot:
- Charged the battery overnight and saw a solid blue circle this morning. I put it back on the mount (without reattaching hardwired connection) and tried pressing the button to ring the bell. I didn’t get any response from the app.
- Tried reconnecting the hardwired connection and then ringing the bell. Still no response / ring.
- Brought the device back inside and did a hard reset, successfully reconnecting the device via the set-up prompts. No response from the device or app after trying to ring.
- Brought the device back inside once again to charge via the micro-USB cord. After charging for five hours, it still has not made any progress and shows only the first portion of the blinking blue circle.
I’ve confirmed that there is a sufficient wi-fi connection, and that the charger works for other devices. What am I missing here that might be causing my battery not to charge??
