Two Video Doorbells & Two Chimes

I have two video doorbells – one for my front door, a second for my back door.

I purchased two Chimes, one for my first floor, the second for the 2nd floor.

There does not appear to be a way in the Ring App to assign a chime tone based on which doorbell is ringing.

Yes, I can have one chime ring when one doorbell is pressed and the other ring when the other is pressed, but they are on different floors and depending on where you are in the house, you can’t hear the chime upstairs or downstairs when you’re on the other floor.

Can someone tell me if this is possible (e.g. separate chime tones for each doorbell)? Seems silly it wouldn’t be possible, since most homes w/ hard-wired doorbells have a different tone for the front and back doors so you can tell which door the person is at.

I have the same problem. Never know what door to answer… Hopefully there is a solution…

I have a similar problem. I have 4 different ring devices on 2 floors - 2/floor; and want to be able to have only one floor chime at a time and further differentiate between which door on that floor has rung (front or back).

@Slate , @Rakreo , @SDX ,

@Slate is correct, "There does not appear to be a way in the Ring App to assign a chime tone based on which doorbell is ringing."

The Ring Chime device and the Ring Chime Pro device currently make the same sounds for Ring (doorbell sound) and Motion-detection, when you have multiple Ring devices connected to the same/single Chime device. So, if you have two doorbells (or some combinations of a doorbell and other Ring devices) connected to a single Chime, they all will produce the same sound from the Chime, and you cannot differentiate (from the sound alone) whether it is the front or rear door.

Others have been requesting the feature that you are looking for. If you like the idea for separate sounds emitting from several Ring devices connected to a single Chime device, you should make your vote be heard by clicking on the all the links below, and then click on the “Thumbs Up” icon on the beginning thread (upper-left side) of the originator’s ‘Feature-Request-Board’. More “Thumbs Up” Kudo vote will get the attention of the Ring Teams. I’ve probably missed a few links in the “Feature-Request-Board” but you can see you aren’t alone!
