Spotlight cam refuses to go into live mode when it detects motion

I purchased a spotlight cam for about $250 last year, and any time the cam detects motion (i.e. someone rings the bell), live mode merely says “streaming error” and refuses to show me what’s happening at my front door. Is this to coerce me into buying a Ring doorbell as well? Did I waste my money on yet another broken product from Ring?

Hi @user18178. Happy to chime in here. In order to diagnose this properly, I need some more information. What is the RSSI for this device? This can be found in the Device Health section of the Ring app. When viewing the Live View, are you on cellular data or WiFi, and what type of phone are you viewing this on? Do you have Rich Notifications enabled? This Help Center article here also has some basic information on troubleshooting this concern.
