I want to connect my Ring doorbell to the mobile app. I have the macid for it but it doesn’t show up in any of the doorbells on the app. Is there anyway to manually input the macid instead of scanning? There is nothing for me to scan (including inside the doorbell itself).
Hi @AnneG. Can you clarify which model of Ring Doorbell you have? It should state the name of the model on the back of the device itself. When you’re setting the Doorbell up in the Ring App, you should have the option to scan the QR code on the back of the Doorbell. If you run into any problems with the setup, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here. They’ll be able to help you get it up and running. We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times. This is an ADT labeled doorbell, i.e., purchased and installed via ADT, but it is advertized as a Ring doorbell. See details here: https://www.adt.com/doorbell-camera. The SKU is WDG-DBC835. But now I’m wondering if it’s really a “Ring” doorbell, or one they sell that is like yours. Could you take a look at the product in the link and let me know if it’s one of yours?
FWIW, there is a QR code inside the doorbell but when I scanned it, it wasn’t recognized.
@AnneG Thanks for sharing that link. The Doorbell you linked is not a Ring Doorbell, it is an ADT doorbell as labeled. You will not be able to set this device up in the Ring App, and for any setup concerns you will need to contact ADT support directly. You can reference our website here to view the Doorbells we have available. I hope that helps clear things up!
