Setting Motion Zones

I just installed a Ring Floodlight cam and everything is going well except for the setting of the advanced motion zones.
Because our house does not have a lawn, it is connected directly to the public sidewalk. On the other side of the sidewalk of our house is the parking space for our vehicle.
We would like to protect our vehicle with the Ring system as well but because of the very busy sidewalk, there are constantly people walking on it which sets off the Motion sensor each time leaving us with a long list of false alarm notifications even when the mode is set to people only.
As setting the motion zones is already not as easy as providing the exact shape we wanted, may I suggest Ring to add a feature of something like different ways to set a motion zone like drawing a simple line as the motion trigger point. A setting that doesn’t trigger the motion sensor unless it captures the whole body from head to feet in people only mode. Or a motion zone that will not trigger to notify if the person does not stay in it for less than a set time of 5-10 seconds as he/she is just walking on the sidewalk going in and out of the motion zone leaving the motion sensor to only send a notification if a person is wandering in the zone for over the set time.

Thank you for sharing this experience with us, @Wf314. Currently the closest thing to a solution for this would be a privacy zone. Check out our help center article which describes how these Privacy Zones work in detail. This Privacy Zone will prevent an area from being recorded and, for certain devices/ motion settings, will also prevent motion detection. Keep in mind, nothing is viewable in the Privacy Zone.
