Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation)

I am new to these forums so please be gentle with me.

I have recently aquired a RIng Video Doorbell from Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07WGJ8XN4/). I was also recommended this adapter to power it from the wall (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07P4N3H1F/). I have got a wire wound resistor 50W 25Ohms to put in the wiring (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07W3VS575/). . )

Is this all I need to be able to trickle charge the battery so I don’t have to keep taking the whole doorbell off to charge the battery when it needs doing. I do not have an existing wired doorbell so this is the next best thing.

Can you advise that what I have will be suitable? I know you do a Ring Power adapter at £25 but it’s only for the Ring Doorbell Pro isn’t it?

Many Thanks,

Hi @BrettRogersUK. Welcome to the Ring Community. I cannot advise you to use a 3rd party device, as this is an official Ring product. We do have the Plug-in Adapter, that when used with a Wirewound Resister, can support a Ring Video Doorbell Generation 2. With both of those components properly wired, it will provide the trickle charge needed to power your Ring Video Doorbell Generation 2. I hope this information helps.
