I have purchased a ring video doorbell from Tesco and I have gone to register it and it says the ID is already in use ? Any idea on what to do.
Hey @Matt6081! It sounds like this device may have had a previous owner, or was setup previously. When this happens, you will want to follow the Change of Ownership process to properly setup your Ring device. If you’ve attempted setups already, the previous owner will receive a message requesting them to release ownership.
If you feel this is not the case, or have waited sometime since your first setup attempt, please reach out to our support team for further assistance.
I would not even go into resetting… you have no idea what it’s history is and it appears to not be new or reconditioned by Ring. Just take to back to Tesco. They should replace it.
