Can’t connect to doorbell for live

Hello @Anniem ,

Yes, Ring is still working the outage issue. I live on the east coast of the USA and my Ring App just came back up (Nov 25, 2020 @ 19:18 UTC), but the “Live View” is still not working, so they are still working restoring the system, as their Status website still is officially showing the outage has not been fixed yet . . . but they must be getting close to full system restoration I guess Ring systems. https://status.ring.com/

Hopefully soon

UPDATE:

Ring is still working the outage issue. I live on the east coast of the USA and my Ring App came back up (Nov 25, 2020 @ 19:18 UTC), but my “Live View” was still not working, so they were still working restoring the system, but getting close to full system restoration.

Then, Nov 25, 2020 @ 19:37 UTC all of my Ring App functions, including “Live View” are now fully working correctly. There were some Notifications that suddenly occurred on my phone, mostly likely the Notifications of what was happening during the outage, and were stored and backlogged in some sort of Ring computer server queue, I guess. All the video past footage seems OK too.

Officially, the Ring Status is still down and I’m assuming that is because not everyone’s issues have been fixed yet, but it’s rolling out and should be to everyone soon. https://status.ring.com/

Hopefully very soon, everyone will have full restoration on this issue.

Back up and running now ??

I finally can open app and access the live view on all my devices and recorded video. But all my devices show the RSSI is at 0%. Otherwise they seem to be working as expected. So I don’t really trust the RSSI data that is being shown is correct.

Hello,

I am trying to add a Camera from Ring to my Key by Amazon account and when I try to link my Ring account it says Error something went wrong please try again. I am not sure if this related to this or if it is a different issue

I’ve been having problems for about 12 hours now. I can change the mode on the app from disarmed to armed. RSSI reading very low on everything, reading 0 on all chimes. I just called tech again and they’re working on it. He sees all of my devices on his end and they all check out fine. He also said they’re working with Amazon technicians too. Something big happened.

It’s been 12 hours and I still can’t connect. Called tech about 1/2 hr ago (it’s 9pm now EST) and they’re working on it, whatever that means. A bit more info from Ring would be helpful. They haven’t updated their status all day.

It’s been down since about 9:15 am EST.
I wonder if it’s the Russian hackers holding them ransom?

It’s still down in Ontario, Canada.

How’s about an update? I still can’t do anything with the app. I can get a live view, but on the dashboard, don’t see any images, can’t switch modes, etc etc

I don’t know of any “apology”. It’s 9:45 pm and the system still isn’t working. App won’t let me switch modes, dashboard not showing images, etc etc.

Amazon (who owns Ring) is having system outage issues of their own too!

Any word on a time for a resolution. I literally got my first ring product yesterday and have been unable to complete the setup. Did I make a mistake in buying Ring?

Hello @CotOTK ,

It’s getting there. Ring is back up in “Degraded Performance” status. But it kind of is not a fault of Ring. Amazon Web Services (AWS) comprises about 40% of the Internet, and it was AWS that went down dragging hundreds of other companies offline with it (although some could argue that since Ring is owned by Amazon, that it’s the same thing).

Yeah I saw that but AWS is saying their issue is resolved. Just checked their status dashboard and it’s showing all green and has been most of the day

I wasn’t aware of this, called twice, gave me the run around, blamed it on my router… just to find this message after 3 hours of going crazy. NOT good customer service at all! I ‘d have been ok with it knowing there was a known issue, things happen, but to avoid telling a customer there was an issue, definitely made me angry.

So we buy Ring to protect our home, personal property and lives. Yet here we are and my wife’s Ring app is still not working. Mind you that we had a man at our front door in the middle of the night last month with a gun. The app hasn’t worked for days and very little communication from Ring. According to the website it is working now. NO, it’s not!!! When you call support, you cannot even understand the person on the other end. No email support or chat support either. So I have a sh***y product that doesn’t work and no way to reach Ring for solution. Extremely POOR service!!! I will tell my neighbors NOT to buy Ring as I will start looking for a better product that actually works!

ALL Ring systems officially resolved and restored.
