I wanted to share a little story with you about how Ring Door Bell saved our families life! I am an ER nurse who works nights. I recently accepted a position 5 minutes from our home. On Sunday July 10th at 4am I received a ring door bell notification that someone was at our front door. Confused why someone was at our door so early in the morning I pulled up the footage to see our neighbor knocking on our door. I soon realized he was on the phone trying to give our address to the person on the other end. Behind him I could see smoke and an orange glow. My heart almost stopped as I tried to figure out what was happening! My husband, four kids, 2 dogs and our recent litter of puppies were inside asleep. I swiftly grabbed my keys and told my coworker in the ER “I have to go I think my house is on fire!” As I pulled away from my work I was frantic, calling my husband who was not answering. Next, unsure if what I saw was real and something bad was happening I heard sirens ring out! Again, my heart sunk and my body was shaking- adrenaline had taken over and I just needed to get home! I must have been driving 100 miles per hour all the way. As I arrived there was police on scene and I could see my husbands chevy tahoe engulffed in flames in our driveway. The flames were penetrating our garage door. I parked at the end of the street and went running towards the house screaming, “THATS MY HOUSE, THATS MY HOUSE!” I ran to the front door and began beating the door harder than I ever thought possible and yelling. Just then a loud bang from the vehicle scared me and I ran to the neighbors driveway. A minute later my husband ran out the front door and saw the caous! He turned around and ran back into the house to retrieve our children. We got our kids out of bed and our dogs and made it out safe! I am happy to announce that the fire only penetrated the inner side of our garage door and a bit of our flooring. There are so many heros in the story but a HUGE shout out to ring and the service they provide which allowed me to be alerted that something was going on at our property. Another huge shout out to my neighbor who took the risk of coming to our front door to alert us! To my husband whos first thought was to get our children to safety. Thank you to all of our neighbors who offered their homes and support to our family. Without this neighborhood and ring this could have ended very badly. I am so greatful that my family is alive and well.
Hi @Laurenkdavis. First and foremost, I’m so glad that your family made it out of that situation without any harm, and that the damage to your home was minimal. Kudos to your neighbor for doing what he could to alert your family and call for help, and it’s awesome to see that the Ring Doorbell helped quickly alert you to what was going on. Thank you for taking the time to share this story here!
