Emergency Alerts When Your Phone is in Do Not Disturb Mode
You now have the option to receive emergency Ring Alarm alerts immediately, even if your phone or tablet is in Do Not Disturb mode. If you have multiple Ring Alarm locations, this setting will apply to all locations.
How to Turn Emergency Alerts Feature On
Following the directions below, will override your phones Do Not Disturb setting and send you push notifications for any emergency Ring Alarm alert.
- Open the Ring app and tap on the Menu in the top left corner.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Alarm Alerts.
- Tap the PUSH tab on the right.
- In the Emergency Alerts section you will see an an ON or OFF status which indicates your device’s current settings. To change your device settings, tap on the arrow. See example photo below.
- You will be presented with a screen that describes how emergency alerts work with your device now. To change the current settings, tap the Change Device Settings. This will take you to setting which will differ between iOS and Android phones, learn more in this Ring Help Center article.
Note: This feature applies to push notifications only, not emails.
