I purchased a Ring 2nd gen video doorbell and solar charger in Jan or Feb of 2020, had it professionally installed in Feb 2020. Why is the battery constantly draining so quickly? We are charging it almost weekly now. The motion range is not set very widely so not sure why this is draining and needing to be physically recharged so quickly - obviously, the solar charger is not serving any purpose. This has become very frustrating. What can be done to resolve this, short of going with another company/product?
Hey @Brewsters_mom. If you’re having to charge the device every week, you may want to ensure you are not having too many motion events. With more than 20 events a day, this could really be draining down the battery, so you may need to limit the motion settings to accommodate for this.
