No live view on iOS 14.7.1 when away from home

This is a recent problem. My video doorbell V2 used to work fine accessing live view when I was away from home. (No WiFi) I could answer the door when someone rang the bell and speak to them which I thought was the whole point of a video doorbell.
Now when I try to answer the door remotely I just get a spinning wheel in the app and a connection error.
I called Ring support and the support person tried to tell me that Ring Doorbells only work over WiFi.
What a load of … I would never have bought it if that was the case.
Anyway… I know that’s BS because it used to work.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi there, @JayDubya! Your Ring app should certainly work on your mobile device and allow you to live view, as long as your mobile device has sufficient connection. While Ring devices requires wifi to operate within your home, when it comes to the Ring app your mobile device should be able to operate it just fine on wifi or cellular data connection.

Please ensure there is not a vpn enabled on your mobile device. I recommend also trying out the Rapid Ring app, designed for the quickest access to live view. I hope this helps! :slight_smile:
