We need more votes, this is a MUCH NEEDED feature.
Please add voice announcement on keypad and base station, itâs really required and important features.
The chime has several Halloween sounds but no Christmas sounds perhaps adding several chime sounds and making it so both the base station and ring doorbell play these sounds when ringing the doorbell
I agree! Not enough Holiday or regular chimes
Agree with previous comments, we are missing Christmas tones. Had them the last 2 years now they are gone. Please add these and more choices during the rest of the year as permanent choices, not just holiday times.
Agree, and please make them permanent. I had the Halloween ones, had to reset my device due to wifi issues and now they are gone. The seasonal ones need to be permanent. More variety on non seasonal (or if memory is an issue, have a large number available on the server but only download the user selected ones to the device which can be changed as required)
Merry Christmas @AndreyGlover , @Xxxfile1 , @Linney and @Kitiara ,
I just got my new seasonal Holiday App Alert Tones today (Nov 27), so it appears they are beginning to be pushed out. If you donât have them yet, it should be very soon as Ring does the rollout. (Iâm an Android phone user, on USA east coast area).
This yearâs tones are:
- Deck the Halls
- Elves
- God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
- Hark, the Herald Angels Sing
- H o H o H o!
- Jingle Bells 1
- Jingle Bells 2
- Silent Night
- Sleigh Bells
- I Have a Little Dreidel
- Maâoz Tzur
- Oh Hanukkah
The Halloween tones are now gone, although the âThanksgiving Turkeyâ tone is still there (I guess for a little while longer). Of course, the âstandard tonesâ also remain.
How come holiday chimes for the chime and whatâs on the ring app on the phone are different?
I could Swear I had Halloween chimes and since
I updated my apple phone I donât seem to have any.
Why does ring remove seasonal chimes? What do they care if I play them on off season?
Can anyone tell me how to get chime options back? I donât seem to have Any and just the regular one
Hopefully weâll see these pushed out (in the UK) this year? No holiday tones currently visible as far as I can see
Is it possible for me to incorporate my own created ringtones/alerts? I donât like tones because I donât remember whats assignend to what. And the generic voice ones donât say like Pool, sideyard, Front yard, etc. I want to know imediatly which of my doorbells, Spotlights, Stickup cams, etc⌠are detecting motion/alerts. Examples:
Motion Detected at the pool.
Motion detected at the Garage.
ââ ââ at the back yard
at the front yard
at the external Garage
You get the idea. DIngs/Dongs/chimes tell me nothing for a multiple door and camera system setup. I donât want to guess where the motion/alert is coming from.
Thanks for letting me post.
Instead of having Ring pick the additional voice announcements (or Alert/Chirp sounds) for us, would it be possible to add a new Alert/Chirp sound selection, called âCustomâ . . . and then also provide a method for the user to âImportâ a sound file into this Custom slot on each device/sensor/doorbell?
Different âSound Filesâ can obtained off the Internet. And you could even make your own sound voice-recording file too! You could then Import tailored voice-recordings, such as: âSomeone is Ringing your Backdoor Doorbellâ, or âMotion in your Living-roomâ, or âYour Side Door is openâ, or âMotion at your Backyard Cam.â I bet some people wound make some funny voice-recordings, like âWelcome Home Your Highnessâ for your door sensor chirp. The point is, having an added new âCustomâ feature could provide endless Alert/Chirp choices!
Although some people workaround this utilizing the Amazon Echo that can provide this ability, but I would prefer a âCustomâ Alert/Chirp selection listed right along with the other choices of âWindchimes, Harp, etc.â, all in the Ring App. Additionally, Iâm resistant to having an Echo in my house, because the idea of something listening to everything in my house I still find a bit too creepy for me (Iâve disabled âListeningâ abilities of my other high-tech devices in my house). You can see that this could be distinctive aubible Chirps to know which Door, and which DoorBell, Motion Detector, Contact Sensor, and Video Camera too.
Now, if you think this âCustomâ Alert/Chirp option (with Import capability) would be nice to have, click on link below and click the Thumbs Up Icon. Ring Teams notice Feature Requests with higher Thumbs Up numbers, and then are more likely to incorporate the Feature Request. There are quite a few similar posts requesting either wanting larger Alert/Chirps selections, or more Voice announcements. Hopefully this âCustomâ option would meet everyoneâs needs.
I agree the ability to import/create custom tones or voice announcements would be a HUGE plus!!
I canât believe custom ringtones havenât been implemented yet.
An import feature to customize device and location notifications should be a high priority for the development team.
Itâs available on the competition.
Has anything happened about the ringtones request?
Any updates on this? This is very essential for homes with multiple external doors, swimming pools etc. I bought Ring system 3 days ago and I canât believe this feature is not available. I feel like returning the system if Ring canât have this feature. Its completely useless for me if the chirp of my wife opening the kitchen yard door (pretty safe) is same as that of my child walking near the pool (warning) vs someone opening my side yard door. (another warning).
I want to be able yo upload my own mp3 file to play when the doorbell is pressed. This would need to be also be uploaded to any chime (multiple files for the chime, one for each bell).
I want to choose what plays rather being told what should be played when someone presses my doorbell.
With my old doorbell i could upload up to 8 mp3 files for the bell to use.
I could change it regularly depending on the season.
Just because its called a doorbell does not mean it had to play bells or, or even appalling electronically generated sounds of bells.
I have already supported the customisation of alarm sounds that you posted on here but really this is not the same thing. This request is about the sounds the doorbell make when the button is pressedâŚnothing to do with the alarm system.
The sound your doorbell makes is an App Alert Tone for your rings (doorbell button depressed), such as Ring Default, Antique Ding Dong, Ping Pong, Cowbell, etc. So mine wasnât just meant for alarm system devices, but rather meant to have the additional âCustomâ added to the list of available App Alert Tones where you could import your personal sound file into that âCustomâ spot, for any Ring device, including the Chime & Chime Pro, and any device that has Alert Tone or Chirp sound selection list. So then it could be heard on your Chime/Chime Pro device, Base Station, and Ring App too.
Many thanks too for the âThumbs Upâ on my Feature Request Board
