The only reason I paid was to see who damaged my front door yesterday but I don’t seem to be able to view any of the events in the history prior to activating the plan. Will they have been recorded and store on the cloud or not?

You can’t pay after the event and expect to see footage from before you paid otherwise everyone would do that. Videos before you paid are not stored
