I have a ring doorbell gen 2. Hooked up to my transformer. Works fine (sort of) in device health it says hardwired. Power is good (that’s what the app tells me) but my home assistant keeps track of the battery and it jumps around during the day. see image. Is this normal behavior? It doesn’t drop below critical. Mostly above 70 percent. But yeah really jumps around.
Hi @At3. Rest assured that if your Ring App says you are hardwired, then you Ring Video Doorbell is getting adequate power. While Home Assistant does have limited functionality with Ring, we do not officially support these integration. For this reason, it might be cause of the variance in power levels you see.
OK let me rephrase it.
The app tells me hardwired and power good. But the battery inside the ring app itself does fluctuate as well. The reason why I showed home assistant is that it keeps a history record so I could show you what happens during a period of 24 hours. But rest assured it gives the same answer as the ring app. So it’s not a home assistant issue
Hi @At3. Thank you for clarifying. To see what causing the drops in your battery, I would contact our support team, as they have access to your Doorbells voltage history reports.
