Hardwired Ring Doorbell losing battery

My electrician hardwired our Video Ring Doorbell 3 back in February 2022 and has been working absolutely fine (I understand how the trickle charge works). However, today the battery has gone down to 6% and appears to be losing battery. I have checked the doorbell on the app and it says that it is charging even though it is losing battery which you can see from the image below. Has anyone seen this before? Or does it appear to be a faulty battery?

Take the battery out and try charging it with a USB cable.
Also, have the amount of notifications/motion events gone up or change other settings that would explain the battery loss.

I will attempt to recharge battery with usb cable today, but there have been no more motion events/notifications than usual - if anything I would say there have been less.
