Hardwired Doorbell Not Working

I have the original ring doorbell.
It has been connected to power for the last several months.
In the past few days it’s now showing as being powered by battery.
I’ve checked the wires going to the faceplate and seen no error.
Now I installed the diode hoping this would rectify the situation.
But this hasn’t worked.
Any Suggestions?

Hi there, @simsamp! Your battery-powered Video Doorbell model will indeed power primarily using the battery. The hardwiring connection can certainly supply a trickle charge thereafter, which can charge your battery. The effectiveness of this charge will depend on hardwiring and usage factors. Check out this Hardwiring Checklist for tips on obtaining an optimal trickle charge, and this Community post about battery drain. I hope this helps!
