Error downloading recordings from Doorbell Pro 2, but OK from Stick Up Cam...?

When I download videos to my iPad or iPhone that were recorded by my Stick Up Cam (3rd gen), the videos download successfully.

When I download videos to my iPhone that were recorded by my Video Doorbell Pro 2, the videos download successfully.

However, when I download videos to my iPad that were recorded by my Video Doorbell Pro 2, once the progress reaches 100%, the error “There was an error. Please try later.” is displayed. Trying later produces the same error.

Videos and photos on my iPad and iPhone are sync’d to the same iCloud account, so the Video Doorbell Pro 2 recordings that I download on my iPhone also appear in the Photos app on iPad. When I attempt to play any of the doorbell recordings (from the Photos app) on my iPad I get the following error “Unable to Play Video - This video cannot be played because the file format is unsupported”.

So it appears the format of my Stick Up Cam videos are supported on my iPad, but the format of my Video Doorbell Pro 2 videos are not. Why?

iPad: Ring app version 5.45.0 / iOS version 12.5.5 (latest)
iPhone: Ring app version 5.45.0 / iOS version 14.8.1 (latest)
