Doorbell rings continuously

I have a Ring Pro. I have a Hampton Bay Wired/Wireless and it’s in Ring’s approved list of chimes. First my transformer wasn’t strong enough despite it getting 18 V. After watching several You Tube Videos I upgraded to a 24v. Doorbell worked perfectly. Then about 3 hours later today, the chime rang repeatedly. We had to disconnect the transformer to get it to stop. I have no idea what to do. Is there a specific chime I’m supposed to buy? Should I have NOT bought one that was both wired and wireless? Ours is hard wired. But is the wireless interfering? Can I turn the wireless off? HELP! I’ve never had any device as frustrating as my worthless Ring doorbell.
