That would be a bold step backwards.
I wonder if support were confused on that as I am aware the support is no longer there for the mobile Win10 app but thought it was staying for the PC version?
Hello Eagle 123,
I received a message from two (2) Ring Community Neighbors and they have both called Ring Support and Ring informed them that they no longer support Windows 10 app.
It is baffling to me though that the Device Health works on my chime pro on my Windows 10 PC but does not work on my Ring Pro Doorbell or my camera on my PC.
At least the iphone Device Health still works properly on all three (3) of my devices; however, it would be nice if Ring would support the Windows 10 app like it used to.
Thanks,
Eagle 328,
I apologize for entering the wrong numbers on your user name. I typed 123 instead of 328.
Thanks,
Thatâs ok. As far as I know. Ring made a statement that this is a known issue to them on the Windows computer app. They are working on sending out an update soon to fix it. If you go back a few days you will see a post from a Ring moderator stating this.
As for the Windows app for phones, it wouldnât surprise me if itâs no longer supported since they donât make Windows phones anymore. That may be the confusion about support. Hope this helps.
Same here.
Support asked what type of desktop computer I had. I told him HP with Windows 10. Thatâs when he told me Ring does not support the Windows 10 platform anymore.
Thatâs absurd! Not supporting Windows is similar to not supporting the American Dollar.
Windows 10 is ubiquitous and growing. Itâs the operating system for the vast majority of new computers sold.
I only bought my Ring doorbell (just a few months ago) after specifically verifying that it would work with my PC. To suddenly cease supporting the product is atrocious.
I just reached out to a moderator on here to see if they can comment and hopefully clear this confusion up. Hopefully weâll get a response soon.
Hello JoRees,
I agree with your statement and it is very frustrating that Ring all of a sudden quit supporting Windows 10 app. I had never had any problems with the Device Health before on my personal PC and then all of a sudden the problems started to ocurr.
Hopefully that Jennifer from the Ring Team will have an answer for us very soon so Ring can start to support Windows 10 app again like it used to.
Thanks,
Hi neighbors, sorry for any confusion, we do support the Windows 10 app and can confirm that the team is working on a fix for this concern. Sorry for any inconvenience this provides at the moment.
Thank you Riley for your prompt response and that Ring is making an effort to fix the problem.
I figured that Ring did support Windows 10 cause I was using the Device Health on Windows 10 app for quite a while without any issues.
Thanks again and hope you all can fix the problelm soon.
any time frame this fix will happen?
Any word? did they work all weekend?
To my knowledge, Ring Reps work 24/7, 7 days a week, so I am assuming that they are trying their best to fix the Device Health for the windows 10 PC.
Why is this marked âSolvedâ when it isnât??
Because the solution is to wait for the app to be updated. Itâs a known issue. Iâm sure once the app is updated they will post that and change the solution to that post.
The soultion to the broken app is to wait for the app to be updated??
Thatâs almost as funny as Ring Support telling me via email âKindly contact the Microsoft Store Sales and Customer Support: 1-877-696-7786â in regards to this problem! As if Microsoft fixes 3rd party apps!
This problem isnât âSolvedâ. If anything, itâs âBeing Worked Onâ.
Well, guess they could have said nothing thenâŚ
If there is no other way to fix it, at least you know theyâre working on it. But you canât please everyone. Oh well.
