On the App on my Iphone (IOS), I can make each of my cameras give a different sound indication when it detects motion. Is there way to do this on the OSX app? In addition, I saw another thread about disabling the sound on the motion alerts and I believe the person who answered the question didn’t fully understand the question. I still want video popups when there is motion on some or all the cameras but I don’t want the sound. Is there a way to do this or are my only choice is to disable notification or get notifications with chime and video?
This is not currently available @SDToddL . We have sent your feedback to the team as a feature request. Thank you!
Well that feature request went great it seems. Seriously, how complicated could this be?
Kind regards.
Can this please be done? Windchimes ain’t all that!
When you are on a Zoom call (as a lot of us are right now), and the Ring alert goes, it blows my eardrums out. Definitely need a separate volume control within the Mac OS app.
i would also like to +1 this feature request. the windchime sound on the mac app is obnoxious, long, and loud. it’s especially annoying when it goes off during a video call and I have to apologize to a group of my employees or clients because the mailman came. please fix this asap.
Can I keep updated with the results? The chimes are a bit prominent and loud. I would like to have the opportunity to change the notification sound.
Hi neighbors! It’s been awhile since we’ve updated this thread, so here is our new and improved Feature Request Board. We appreciate your continued feedback on this feature and will continue to share it with our teams here. The feature request board is routinely checked by our teams here and allows other neighbors to vote or comment on alike requests. Thanks again for being great Community neighbors!
So when will it be available?
Such poor app support has me looking at one of the many competitor products available.
Hey all! I had the same issue where the chimes were so loud on Mac - they were awful!
You can change the notification sounds on Mac by going into Finder > Applications > Ring (Right-click it and select “Package contents”) > Contents > Resources
There should be a file in here called “Motion.wav” and also if you open the “sounds” folder (still under the “Resources” folder) there should be a file named the same.
Get whatever sound you like, format it as wav, call it “Motion.wav”, replace those two files listed above and boom! Sorted
This was my experience on my M1 Mac anyways, not sure if it differs for people with intel ones.
Hope this helps!
