Alexa notifications for ring event alerts

Hello Marley, it’s been about a year since I discovered that when the Alexa notifications we enabled that the inside doorbell chime would not sound when the doorbell was pressed. Can you tell me if this has been fixed?
Thanks, Glenn

Hi @grogers. Are you referring to a Ring Chime or Ring Chime Pro that no longer rings when you have Alexa notifications enabled? Or are you talking about your internal mechanical or digital chime kit that the Doorbell is wired to? Additionally, what type of Ring Doorbell do you have? You can find this information on the original packaging, on the back of the Doorbell itself, or on the Device Health page in the Ring App.

Thanks for your message. I’m referring to the video doorbell pro according to the device health and an inside mechanical doorbell chime. If you look back at the top of this thread you can see the original poster describing the problem. Look forward to your update. Thanks.

@grogers Your post is its own topic so I’m going off of the information you’ve shared so far. What is the make and model of the mechanical doorbell chime you have inside your home? I’d like to confirm if it falls under the list of compatible chime kits for the Doorbell Pro, which you can find in our Help Center here.

How can I link you back to a thread with the initial post? Maybe this will work.

I replaced the mechanical chime inside the house with one that was on the recommended list.

Please let me know if you are able to review this thread?

@grogers I believe you’re referring to this thread here then. Doorbell Announcements via Alexa devices shouldn’t affect your mechanical chime, as Tom mentioned in that thread. What is the make and model of your mechanical chime kit? Is the Pro Power Kit properly installed?
